Artist Bio
Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Heather Bergerson (b. 1990) is a German-American multimedia artist whose practice explores humanistic concerns and personal agency. Working primarily in painting, printmaking, and large-scale collaborative projects, she investigates biological parallels between humans and other species across the botanical, fungal, and animal kingdoms. Her work reflects a deep engagement with sensory perception, resilience, and interspecies connectivity.
In 2019, Bergerson earned her Associate of Fine Arts from the University of New Mexico–Taos. Following a life-threatening car accident in 2020 that left her visually impaired, she began to perceive the world through new textures, perspectives, and possibilities. With support from the New Mexico Commission for the Blind, she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honors and a minor in Arts Leadership and Business at the University of New Mexico in 2023. She has since pursued further training in arts entrepreneurship through NSITE and Wharton Online, founding initiatives that promote accessibility in the visual arts, including The Meandering Artisan LLC, Sticky Murals LLC, and The Alchemy Walls Collective. She is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Art Practices at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Vision
A world in which accessiblity for the arts is self-evident.
Mission
To practice, research, educate, and enhance accessiblity for the arts.
"They say you can feel the arts, but can you touch it?"
My business supports accessibility for the arts in three ways:
tactile murals
by custom designing and executing murals that welcome viewer engagement
haptic reproductions
by licensing with artists, organizations, and collectors to reproduce haptic versions of select artworks
collaborative workshop facilitations
by engaging with local communities and public schools to entice various ways of creating accessible artwork
